The 24in48 readathon began yesterday at 12:01 a.m., but for me, it started at 5:00 a.m. because I like to sleep. At least a little. As I mentioned in my previous post, this is my first readathon, and though I didn’t meet my goal yesterday, I’m still pleased with my numbers.
I read for 9 hours on Saturday. I finished one entire book (Sleeping Giants by Sylavan Neuvel), almost finished American Housewife by Helen Ellis, made progress on Queen of the Night by Alexander Chee, and started another book last night, Roses and Rot by Kat Howard.
I also managed to do some housework, spend time with my husband, and take my dog for two walks. Not bad, if I say so myself.
I had every intention of reading at least twelve hours yesterday, and I would have made it, but for one thing. I discovered that not one, but two, episodes of The Great British Baking Show were available, and I simply cannot resist Mary Berry and puff pastry. I know, I’m weak.
I posted semi-regular updates on Litsy yesterday, and I will continue to do so today (and fingers crossed that I actually win a giveaway–I never win things).
Today, I have only managed one hour of reading, so I better get to it. Happy reading!
