Tara’s Journey from Web Developer to Writer!
Not long ago, Tara spent her days buried in lines of HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript, building websites and solving bugs. As a web developer, she loved the logic and problem-solving that came with coding. But deep down, she always knew something was missing — a creative spark she couldn’t ignore.
Writing had always been Tara’s secret passion. She kept journals, wrote short stories, and even wrote and soon to publish her first novel. Over time, she realised her favorite part of development wasn’t the code — it was writing documentation, explaining concepts, and sharing ideas through words.
That realisation sparked a major shift.
Tara began learning everything she could about content writing. She started with blog posts — tech tutorials at first, which felt like a natural bridge between her old and new world. From there, she branched into copywriting, web content, and storytelling. She studied SEO, explored tone and voice, and practiced the craft daily.
Transitioning wasn’t easy. Letting go of a stable job in tech came with doubts. But Tara built a small portfolio, took freelance gigs, and slowly found her rhythm. Her background in web development gave her an edge — she understood tech, UX, and how users interact with content.
Today, Tara is a full-time content writer. She creates blog posts, landing pages, email campaigns, product imagery & descriptions, SEO content and marketing material for a wide range of industries, who value her unique hybrid background. Her words now reach thousands, and she’s doing work that genuinely lights her up.
Her story is a reminder that career changes don’t have to follow a straight line. Sometimes, your next chapter is waiting in a skill you’ve quietly loved all along.
Tara didn’t leave tech — she simply found a new way to speak its language. With words instead of code.
About Me
After 10+ years building websites, I realised my favorite part of the process wasn’t just the code, it was the storytelling behind the design, the copy that connects, and the way words shape digital experiences.
