Tara’s Thoughts on AI: A Writer’s Perspective

When I first heard the buzz about artificial intelligence creeping into creative work, I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of unease. I wasn’t new to tech—years as a web developer had shown me how quickly things evolve—but writing had become something else for me. It was personal. It was mine. And as I shifted from coding websites to writing stories, I brought with me that same inventive spirit and attention to detail. The idea that a machine could replicate that? It sounded like science fiction—or worse, a future I wasn’t ready to welcome.

But curiosity got the best of me.

Instead of resisting AI, I leaned in. I started exploring tools like ChatGPT, DALL·E, MidJourney, and Squibler—not as threats, but as collaborators. And what I found genuinely surprised me.

AI wasn’t here to replace me. It was here to assist.

I don’t see AI as the enemy of creativity. It’s more like a super-intelligent intern. It can offer ideas, help brainstorm, tidy up grammar. But it can’t replicate the insight behind the words.

To me, AI is a tool—like a thesaurus or spell-check, just on steroids. It’s amazing for structure, speed, and scale. But the soul of the work? The storytelling, the nuance, the emotion? That still comes from a real person.

Surprise! The website you’re exploring—from the visuals to the words—was created with the help of AI tools. But don’t think for a second it’s all machine-made. I’m still here, fingers on the keyboard, making sure my voice shines through in every piece.

There’s a difference between writing content and writing connection. AI can help with content. But connection? That’s human.

My view on AI has shifted from fear to fascination. I don’t see it as a threat—I see it as a shift. One that’s challenging writers to dig deeper, stay original, and bring more humanity to the page.

Because while AI can write, only humans can feel.

About Me

After 10+ years building websites, I realised my favorite part of the process wasn’t just the code, it was the storytelling behind the design, the copy that connects, and the way words shape digital experiences.
